1- EDUCATION

2007 untill today (october. 2009) PHd Student of Political Science at the ULB (Brussels)
2005 Master of Arts in Anthropology, from the University of Minho. With distinctions. Thesis: “The power of political speech at the referendum on the regionalisation of Portugal in 1998”.
Obtained with highest distinction.

1995 BA in International Relations – Cultural and Political Relations, from the University of Minho (July).

2007 - 2010 PHD Research Scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology

Internship at the International and European Relations Cabinet of the Portuguese Institute of Youth (Braga). Research Project undertaken: “The role of youth in the construction of the European Identity “(120 pages) which consisted of an empirical study with the most important European Non Governmental Youth Organizations.

July 2003 Summer Scholl, “International Relations, Globalization and citizenship: an European perspective”, organized by the Association of Universities of the North Region (AURN), in cooperation with the University of Minho and the University of Oporto.

April 2002 Training course, “The process of globalization and the EU: the place for Portugal”, in the total of 18 hours, organized by the National Institute for Administration (INA). Responsible for the course: Prof. Alain Tobelem.

Sept. 2001 International Summer School, “Citizenship and Identities in a Multilevel European Space,” organized by the European Centre Jean Monnet, University of Trento (Italy) and the University of Innsbruck (Austria).

Nov 1999 Participation at the European Programme EUSSIRF (The European Union Social Science Research Facility) in order to pursue research purposes for a 15 days period, at the London School of Economics (London).

6- ORGANISATION OF CONFERENCES/PARTICIPATION IN CONFERENCES

2009 X French Political Science Congress. Grenoble. September 2009. "Regional etholinguistic mobilisation: the Case of Flanders".

2006 Organiser of the celebration of the United Nations Organisation's day with the sponsorship of the United Nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe, University of Minho.

2005-2006 Member of the Organisation Commission of the Round of Conferences “Citizenship in the Contemporaneous Political Thought”.
University of Minho, from September 2005 to April 2006.

2000 Organiser of the International Round Table, “The Decentralization in Comparative Perspective”, in collaboration with the Assembly of European Regions (ARE), which took place in Braga, at the University of Minho, on the 15th and 16th of June 2000. A wide range of specialists, politics and academics from Portugal, Scotland, Wales and France came to this round table: Professor Louglhin (Cardiff University), Hans de Belder (ARE), Caroline Roy (French Government), George Calder (Scottish Executive), Joseph Gallacher (Wales European Centre in Bruxelles) among others.
